THE GLAMOUR OF BIG CLASS CLASSIC YACHT RACING RETURNS TO COWES IN JUNE 2012.
Organised by the Royal, Yacht Squadron, New York Yacht Club and Yacht Club de Monaco, this unique event launches a revival of the Big Class classic yacht racing in the Solent. It aims to offer a glance back in history as the event recreates yacht racing as it was between the 1910’s and 1930’s.
The Regatta offers an exceptional opportunity to see some of the world’s finest classic yachts racing in our home waters. An ‘A’ list turnout is anticipated to include Mariquita, Mariette, Eleonora and Brittania. The yachts will compete over similar courses that they or their predecessors will have done with courses of 40 to 50 miles.
